Broccoli & Apple Mac and Cheese for Kids

Equipment

  • 1 Large pot
  • 1 Strainer

Ingredients

  • 8 oz macaroni pasta noodles about 1 cup
  • 2 tablespoon butter
  • 1 cup broccoli florets chopped into small florets
  • 1 apple medium, diced into small pieces
  • cups cheddar cheese sharp
  • cup milk
  • dash salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Bring a pot of water to a boil and cook the macaroni according to the package directions. Drain and set aside.
  • While the noodles are draining, return the pot to the stove and melt the butter over medium heat. Add the broccoli florets and cook for 2–3 minutes, until bright green and slightly tender.
  • Add the diced apple and cook for 1–2 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Pour in the milk and heat until warmed through. Add the shredded cheddar cheese and stir until melted and smooth.
  • Add the cooked macaroni back to the pot and stir until everything is evenly coated in the cheese sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Serve warm and enjoy!
