    Substitutions

    • Gluten-free - Use gluten-free breadcrumbs.
    • Egg-free - Generally a flax egg is a good substitute (2 tablespoons ground flax mixed with 4 parts water and let sit), however, I have not tested this recipe with flax eggs so I cannot guarantee their texture and if they will hold together.

    Variations for Carrot Turmeric Fritters

    • Veggies - Stir in a handful of finely chopped spinach or shredded zucchini
    • Spices - Try adding a dash of cumin or curry powder for a slightly different flavour!

    Equipment

    • Frying pan

    How to Store Carrot Fritters

You can store these in the fridge in a sealed container for up to three days or in the freezer for a month. Be sure to cool fritters before putting in a sealed container to avoid condensation. When ready to eat, just heat back up in a toaster oven or oven until warm. You can also serve these cold in a lunchbox.

    Top tip

Kids will love the bright yellow-orange colour from from the turmeric and carrots. Talk about the colours with your child, this helps build food curiosity without pressure!

    FAQ

Can I bake carrot turmeric fritters instead of frying?

Yes. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F and place fritters on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 15-18 minutes.

Could I make these carrot turmeric fritters in the air fryer?

Absolutely! Just cook them according to your air fryer instructions, but this is a great way to make these fritters.

    Do these fritters freeze well?

They freeze very well! They are perfect for batch cooking. Once cooked and cooled, freeze in a single layer in a freezer safe bag. Reheat in the oven or toaster oven until warmed through when ready to eat.

Can I serve them cold in a lunchbox?

Yes. These fritters taste great at room temperature in a lunchbox. They pair really well with some yogurt or hummus for dipping and they hold their shape well. I also have a great list of easy cold school lunch ideas if you are looking for more options!
