Toddler Tip
Let the bark sit out for a few minutes before serving, this softens it just enough for toddlers to bite without it being too cold or brittle.

How To Make Strawberry Frozen Yogurt Bark

Make the chia jam. In a medium saucepan, add the strawberries and cook over medium heat for about 8-10 minutes, until they start to break down. Reduce heat to low, stir in the chia seeds and vanilla. Remove from heat and let sit for 5-10 minutes to thicken.

In a medium bowl, stir together the yogurt and optional maple syrup.

Pour the yogurt onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.

Once the strawberry chia jam has cooled, swirl in the jam. Sprinkle on any optional toppings. Place in freezer for at least 60 minutes, until firm.
Hint: Line your baking sheet with parchment or wax paper before spreading the yogurt, it makes it so much easier to lift out and break into pieces once frozen (no sticking, no mess!).
Substitutions
- Add-ins: Swirl in a spoonful of nut butter, sprinkle granola on top, or mix in shredded coconut.
- Fruit swap: Blueberries, raspberries, or banana slices all work well here.
- Dairy-free: Use a plant-based yogurt for a creamy, allergy-friendly version.
Variations For Frozen Yogurt Bark
- Strawberry Banana Swirl – Mash half a banana into the yogurt mixture before freezing.
- Mixed Berry Crunch – Swap strawberries for a mix of chopped blueberries, raspberries, or blackberries, and sprinkle some finely crushed granola on top before freezing for a bit of crunch.
- Coconut Berry Bark – Stir in shredded coconut and use a coconut milk yogurt base for a dairy-free tropical twist.
Equipment
- Baking sheet or shallow dish
Storage
Once the bark is fully frozen, break it into pieces and transfer them to an airtight container or freezer-safe bag. Store in the freezer for up to 1 month. Place a small piece of parchment between layers if stacking to prevent sticking.
When you’re ready to serve, let a piece sit out for a couple of minutes to soften slightly, it’ll be easier for toddlers to eat!
Top Time Saving Tip
Don’t have time to make chia jam? No problem! Just stir in diced strawberries and chia seeds separately, it still works great and cuts down on prep time!
FAQ
It’s best served straight from the freezer, as it doesn’t hold up as well in an unrefrigerated lunchbox. But you could pack it in a sealed container, just know that it will likely melt a bit, and your child can eat it with a spoon like regular yogurt.
Definitely! It freezes really well. Just store the pieces in an airtight container or freezer bag for up to a month, great for prepping snacks in advance.
