Apple and Pear Crumble Muffins for Toddlers

These muffins are the perfect, cozy toddler muffin. They have no added sugar in the muffin base, and then if you do want a little sweetness, you can add an optional crumble on top. These muffins are soft and are perfect for little hands to hold!

Ingredients

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup apple peeled and grated
  • ¼ applesauce unsweetened
  • ½ cup pears peeled and diced
  • cup olive oil or other neutral flavoured oil
  • 1 tablespoon almond milk unsweetened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Dry ingredients

  • cup oats
  • ½ cup regular flour
  • ¾ cup almond flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg

Optional Crumble

  • ½ cup rolled oats (grind up half into a flour)
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons butter or oil of choice
  • t teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  • Pre-heat the oven to 350℉.
  • Peel and grate the apple. Peel and finely dice the pears. Add all wet ingredients to a medium bowl. Stir to combine.
  • In a separate medium-large bowl, add the dry ingredients together.
  • Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir to combine.
  • If you are making the crumble, grind up half of the oats (so you should have ¼ cup ground up oats, ¼ whole oats).
  • Mix the oats with the maple syrup, melted butter or oil, and cinnamon. Stir to combine.
  • Sprinkle the crumble on top of the muffins in a small layer.
  • Bake in the oven at 350℉ for 15-18 minutes.
